After some morning paining of the lodge on this late day in May I wondered down to the east grove about 200 yards east of the cabin. As I sat on the wooden bench I placed there over the winter, I observed the reverberations of a chipmunk who was out of sight, but obviously nearby. I was likely very close to or occupying his territory. His pronounced discontentment can be heard in the first minute or so of the video (around 0:30-1:00).
